Thin for Life
Why use the Thin for Life site?
That is an excellent question. We posed that question to Dr. Jantz.
Here is his answer:
I am glad you asked that question. It shows me that you are wanting
to make the right choice in regards to dieting/weight loss. With all the hype you need some solid answers from me.
I first should let you know who I am since I am the
founder of Thin for Life. My name is
Gregory L. Jantz, Ph.D., C.E.D.S. I have a doctors degree in
Psychology and I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. I am the
Founder and Executive Director of
The Center for
Counseling & Health Resources, Inc.. We have a staff of
physicians, counselors, and intake specialists.
For 23 years I have been counseling individuals,
with a variety of issues, with an emphasis on eating disorder
counseling. I have worked with clients with anorexia, bulimia,
compulsive overeating, binge eating, and overall disordered eating.
Needless to say, all of these clients were involved with some kind
of dieting and weight loss at some point in their life. For the anorexia
clients they were dieting to the point of death. For the other
clients, they experienced the yo-yo effect of dieting―on
and off dieting with no long lasting weight loss. Because of these
experiences, many came into our office for help in conquering their
eating disorder and to adjust their weight in a healthy manner. To
help these individuals we have developed a Whole-Person Counseling
Approach whereby we give appropriate attention to the emotional,
physical, spiritual, intellectual, relational, and nutritional
aspects of their lives. We have seen great success when clients
choose to get help in all these areas of their life.
Here at Thin for Life
all of our features are designed to meet
emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, emotional,
and nutritional needs. Most diet plans are only concerned about
helping people lose weight. I am concerned that people do more than
lose weight―I want to help
them successfully keep the weight off.
Thin for Life is not a
diet site.
It is a weight loss site to help you learn to live a whole,
authentic, balanced, healthy life, where you work at becoming the
complete person who you were designed to be. So if you are looking
for a quick fix diet site, Thin for Life
is not for you. If you are desiring to be the 2% who succeed in
weight loss, then this site is for you.
Don't let that 2% figure frighten you.
If you apply the principles we teach on weight loss including the

your success, use the books Losing Weight Permanently, Thin Over 40, and/or The Total Temple Makeover, and remember to work on
the emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, relational, and
nutritional aspects of your life (which we help you do), then you
will be part of the 2% who are Thin for Life.

I chose to start
Thin for Life because I wanted to give
individuals the opportunity to apply the principles in my book
Thin Over 40.
These principles are the result of what I learned during my own
quest to be Thin for Life. |
I need to let you now that you are not going to find
multitudes of meal plans that are offered by other weight loss
sites. Meal plans can be good, but the problem with them is that
they reinforce the concept of a diet. If your eating is based upon
meal plans, what happens when you eat at a restaurant, go to a
potluck, eat at a friend or relative's house, don't have very much
time to prepare a meal, etc. If you apply the principles that we
share through Thin for Life, you will
find that you have the ability to take control of your meal

You should also know that if you are wanting
to lose weight quickly without changing eating habits or
exercise patterns, then Thin for Life
is not for you. Our goal is to help you achieve permanent
weight loss, not quick weight loss―
you will experience quicker weight loss if you use all the
benefits we provide. The features are designed to help you more than lose weight,
but to accomplish healthy lifestyle changes.
